I've been thinking and thinking and thinking about this blog lately, and apparently just thinking does not actually translate into writing or posting! So here I am - trying again...
As always, I've been working on lots of little projects since my last post, and I've been having some fun with wreaths... I recently joined pinterest.com (seriously amazing - lots of inspiration for DIY, recipes, kid stuff, fashion, etc) and there are TONS of fabulous wreaths just begging to be made... Ever since I made the heart wreath in February (see here), my door (although beautiful!) looks very plain without something on it...
So, I made a yarn wreath for the first time a couple months ago... I didn't want to spend much on it and I didn't want to go to Michael's to buy a wreath form (because that store is WAY too tempting for a 2-year-old's hands!)... I remembered hearing/reading somewhere (probably on pinterest!) that you could make a wreath form using the foam wraps that go on copper plumbing pipes - so off to Rona we went! I found one that was long enough to make into a circle, and I think it cost just over $1.00... I followed the directions here, and voila - felt flowers and everything!
Unfortunately, I did not think about the weight that the felt flowers would add when I was duct taping the ends of my form together... After only a short time, my wreath started drooping... And drooping... And before I had to shamefully take it down, here's what it looked like:
My poor, sad, sad wreath :'(
BUT! Like I said before, my door looks too plain with nothing on it, so OF COURSE I had to make another! I even braved Michael's (with both children) and bought a proper wreath that won't loose it's shape... I was inspired by this wreath (SO gorgeous!) and learned to make a couple new flowers... I only have a few done, and they're not awesome, but I used pins to attach them this time, so they can be changed and rearranged when I make some more... Or other colours for different seasons!

A love-ly printable...
So, I know I haven't posted in ages, but it doesn't mean I haven't been working on creative things! I just need to get back into writing about them (and remembering to take pictures BEFORE I give things away!)...
Today I want to share a printable with you... I made it using the amazing picnik.com... We had two weddings this month (congrats guys!), so I decided to try out my subway art skills on the classic 1 Corinthians 13 love passage... Here's how they turned out:
I chose colours to match what I knew about the wedding colours - purple and teal! Then, I printed them at home using photo paper (I'm sure you could just as easily send it somewhere to be printed), put them in white frames, and tied bows on them! Of course, I forgot to take pictures of them finished, so you'll just have to imagine :)
I had hoped to post these for download (in case you want a copy for yourself!), but I haven't had time to figure that part out just yet... Let me know if you're interested and I can always send you the file (they're sized to 8x10)...
**EDIT: Finally got downloading sorted out! Click here for purple, here for teal, and here for grey (a special request from a bride using it at her wedding!!)
Thanks for reading!

Catching up...
Hello!!
I've had a few people asking where I've been lately, and I'm sorry! Life has been extra hectic lately with Mark working tons of hours, me doing some income tax prep (yay for "adult time"), the start of swimming lessons for both kids, ultimate frisbee for Mark and me (SO much fun), and a million other things of course!
I have been working on a few projects, but one of the other things we've been dealing with is the water issue in our newly-finished basement, more specifically, right underneath my sewing area! We did have our wonderful plumber come in, and he seems to have fixed the problem, but we had to rip up some of the (8-month-old) carpet... So, for now, my sewing desk is in the rec room, in front of the tv, which proves to be a bit distracting when I'm working on things...
Today, I just wanted to share a couple of things for Easter, since next week will be too late! First, remember the lovely Subway Art I've been raving about? Well, I found this amazing Easter one here, printed it on 8x10 photo paper, and put it in a frame... Every time I see it in our front hall, it serves as a reminder of why we celebrate Easter!
Second, I wanted to do something fun with my two-year-old, and was inspired by the amazing cookies this lady makes (and look at these ones!)... I found some cutters at Zehrs (egg, bunny, flower) and away we went... It turns out that it was a much bigger process than I anticipated, including 2 hours for the dough in the fridge, so right now I only have the cookies baked... Hopefully we will have a chance to decorate them today or tomorrow...
Anyway, that's all I have for now, but I hope to post soon about the orders I've been working on, as well as a couple of other projects...
